Eternalize the fashion of your wedding day on paper. Holly will sketch/paint a high fashion illustration of the bridal gown using acrylic paints, inks, markers, and graphite, on toned mixed media paper (blank white paper is also available upon request. Holly recommends opting with the toned mixed media paper as it better represents white and ivory gowns). Please note, Holly uses the photo of the bride in their gown as a reference and will reimagine it as a couture sketch. Custom illustrations are not photo replicas, rather, couture sketches that emphasis the gown. Posing may differ from the photos provided.

For Unframed Art: 11×14” original illustration is securely packaged and delivered in archival and bend-proof packaging with our signature gift-ready wrap. Delivered USPS Priority with Insurance.

For Framed Art: 11×14” original illustration is inserted in a frame with 1 1/2” white mat. Frame finish options include natural wood, white, or black. Please add 3 weeks after processing time for all framed orders. Delivered via FedEx.

Requirements Prior to Purchasing:

-Please note this is a Single figure custom bridal gown fashion illustration. Holly is currently only taking on single-figure bridal gown illustrations.

-Reference photos of the bride in the gown are required at the time of purchase and must be provided in a timely manner to begin the project. Holly can also work from “dress try on” photos if the illustration will be given as a gift prior to the wedding photography becoming available, as long as there is a description of how the bride would like their hair to be styled on their wedding day. The more reference photos, the better! (ex- close up of the fabric, several angles of the dress, etc). It is also helpful, if possible, to provide the name of the gown/designer.

How it works:

1) If the illustration is required to be completed by a specific day, please contact Holly to arrange prior to purchasing. Custom illustrations take 3-5 weeks to complete.

2) Purchase the listing. By purchasing the listing, you are agreeing to the Artist's Terms and Work Agreement, outlined in the section below. Please be sure to review prior to purchasing.

3) Within 48 hours of purchase, please send photo references of both the bride and their gown. (please see photo requirements in the “Requirements” section above).

4) Discuss any details with Holly regarding the gown/bride (Example, “Bride will be wearing pearl earrings”, “Bride has blue eyes”, “Bride always wears red lipstick”.) Please note due to the scale of the illustration on paper, some details are too small to render at full detail, and may appear stylized on paper- for example, if the bride is wearing a specific bracelet or jewelry item, the illustrated figure will contain a stylized sketch that alludes to the piece of jewelry being present.

5) Holly completes a black and white proof sketch to be delivered for approval. Please review and approve within 48 hours. One edit is allowed in this phase, if needed.

6) After the pencil proof is approved, Holly moves on to the final illustration and delivers a final proof upon completion. Due to the nature of the medium, very limited edits may be made in this phase, if needed.

7) a- For unframed illustrations: The completed illustration is wrapped with care and in protective packaging and shipped to the desired address.

b- For framed illustrations (adds an additional 3 weeks to turnaround time): The completed illustration is wrapped with care and in protective packaging and shipped to our framing partners at Simply Framed. Simply Framed completes the professional framing process, and mails the completed art fully framed and ready to hang. White, Black, and Gold Frames are available.

Artist Terms and Work Agreement:

By purchasing a Custom Bridal Illustration, you acknowledge and agree to the following.

-Style: Client acknowledges that they are hiring Holly Nichols as an artist for her style and established catalog of work in Fashion Illustration. Fashion illustrations are not realistic portraits. All work is illustrated in the artist’s signature fashion illustration style. Your illustration will represent the dress as a couture, expressive illustration, and your bride’s characteristics and facial features will be stylized. Please note, Holly uses the photo of the bride in their gown as a reference and will reimagine it as a couture sketch. Custom illustrations are not photo replicas, rather, couture sketches that emphasis the gown. Posing may differ from photos provided.

-Communication: Delays in approval of draft or delays in responses from Client may result in project delays.

-Revisions: One revision is allowed after the pencil draft is delivered, prior to Holly moving on to the final color phase. Revisions after the color phase is completed are not always possible. Requested revisions are evaluated by the artist on a conditional base and may increase turnaround time and may incur additional fees.

-Deliverables: Clients are to receive a framed or unframed custom bridal illustration. Please make your framed/unframed selection at checkout. Turnaround time will be discussed upon purchase, and is generally 3-5 weeks. Shipping times vary by client's location. Please add 3 weeks to processing time for all framed art. The artist is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers.

-Copyright: Client’s use of the Deliverables shall be limited to the following: Non-Exclusive Copyright for personal artwork/gift. Client’s work may be used exclusively as artwork/gift and is not licensed for marketing or commercial purposes. Works may not be sold for commercial purposes without contact with the artist or renegotiations with Artist.
